this is my first quilt made with my new Accuquilt go. It is wonky but the top is done. I am still rather proud as I never did hst. now it is going to be quilted...suggestions for backing color and thread color for fmq? thanks!

Personally, I'd use the coral color.

I think it depends on how confident you are at FMQ. If you want your stitching to be prominent, you might use the suggestion above. Otherwise go with something more neutral. It's hard with your quilt because there are so many strong colors. It's very pretty, btw.

There is a varigated in the orange color that might look really nice on your quilt. This is the part that stumps me a lot too. The quilt I'm working on right now, I have 6 different colors of thread.

Back in Black or Tan and quilt with black. That is what I would do...you did a good job!

I think a sage green would be good for the backing color; however, any color that was used on the front would look good on the back. As to quilting thread, I like to match the thread to the background color of the fabrics, even if I need to change threads frequently. i just like to see the texture quilting gives the quilt instead of seeing the thread. However you decide- make it personal for you.

A beige background print would look real nice on the back, in which case I would use "natural" colored thread. If you go with a green back, I would use green thread. If you choose to go with a coral colored back, I would use beige thread or coral colored thread.

I wound use a color that would blend in..I am not much on seeing the thread..I think the grayish color would be nice on back and bind it with coral.. Just my thoughts..

Many times I use a neutral color. If you are just starting with FMQ I would use a color that will blend in with the back and front. Grey or off-white are my favorites. Like others have suggested I have also used varigated thread, but it does tend to show any mistakes. Your quilt is beautiful.
