Well I made the this quilt for my 19month old son. This is the onesies he wore the first yr. I have been ready to get it on the frame. It will be going on the frame in a couple weeks. I want to top quilt it my self by hand. I want to be able to tell him I made this for him. Well I am very very new to hand quilting only got maybe 2hrs under my belt.

The first photo is the top and the second photo is the bottom

I know it's very big for my son. I seem to make my quilts to large. I like big blankets more room

it is a lovely quilt and will be treasured for a long long time! I can tell it holds lots and lots of memories!! I wish I would have done that with both of my girls....too late now. I do have a collection of "special" t-shirts that I am hoping to put into quilts for them. Your quilt is a true inspiration for me! :)

I plan on taking my old Tim McGraw concert T-shirts that I can only dream of fitting into again and making me a throw for me. And it will make from in the closet for my clothes

Great idea and you did a beautiful job. If your son is going to use this quilt and it will get lots of washings I would machine quilt it. Sorry no ideas on hand quilting.

That is adorable. I think I would stitch in the ditch....simple, easy and stitches won't show quite as much. That may not be important to you or maybe you make beautiful even stitches, but new quilters tend to stitch unevenly so in the ditch is a way to help hide the mistakes while you improve. If you find that your stitches are beautiful, then challenge yourself to stitch anywhere and anything for a design. You could even stitch words...repeating the words on his shirts or just writing "love words" for your baby. Love the top and the bottom! They are really pretty and what a keepsake for later on.

I was gonna let him use it until he don't want to when it's to babyish for him then I will put it away and give it to him on his wedding day for his kids. If it last that long.
