I have a large old fashioned cracker jar, the kind you used to find on the store counter next to the cash register. Most of my buttons are in it. I can't have the candy any more, so I leave it for the DH and kids. There's a place for the kids if they want to visit while I sew. They made one quilt, and stopped sewing.

No traditions in mine but I like yours.

I've been trying to lose weight so I really don't like having the candy in there but when I tried to take it out, I felt a little lost without my Gram's rules so I put it back. Lol, looks like I'll just have to learn some self control.

My tradition is not really a tradition. It's my own habit.
Since my sewing room has an east facing window, the best natural light for the room occurs in the morning. I have exactly 40 minutes with the house to myself every morning after the husband and son leave for work and school and before I myself have to start getting ready for work. That 40 minutes is spent in my sewing room, without the ceiling lights on - enjoying the natural light, and sewing in my PJ's.

That's a wonderful tradition Jenny. After time all of our habits become traditions. And we all need that alone time with our craftiness, lol.

I have a kids table next to my sewing table in the dining room. It's for my DGD sewing machine and stash. She sews with me a lot.

Those are the best memories to make. My girls love to create things and kids cherish the time we spend with them, especially when they're in that creating mode.
