wow, you have really been busy !

barri1 07-24-2012 04:41 PM

You are way too amazing.. I have been watching your work, and you have talent..

momto5 07-24-2012 04:46 PM

You and I had the same problem today, and the same answer. Only difference is...I don't have NEAR that many strips!

4EVERquilt 07-24-2012 04:48 PM

Gee!! and they're all stacked so neatly. Happy sewing.:)

cheaha39 07-24-2012 04:53 PM

Thanks, I think I get it, I will stop flipping through quilt pattern magazines and cut..... Great way to accomplish something, besides dog earing magazines...

KellyPA 07-24-2012 04:56 PM

Love the box filled with strips!!! How cool! Log cabin quilts are my favorite. But I have never tried to make a bed sized quilt. In my dreams I have a green, orange, and brown log cabin quilt on my bed.... maybe one day :-)

Aren't you the clever one? We all get bored sometime but you didn't just waste time saying Oh, I'm so bored over and over again. You worked your way out of the bored state by cutting lots of strips and now you have the makings of a very colorful log cabin quilt.

Tartan 07-24-2012 05:11 PM

Your strips look great. I don't think I would be able to do that much rotary cutting all at once.

sweet 07-24-2012 05:16 PM

Wow, that's really really good! Thanks for the inspiration, it's very helpful for me right now!

jojosnana 07-24-2012 05:16 PM

A great bunch of strips! Use the ones you love and send me the rest....okay....sell them...

Helen S 07-24-2012 05:44 PM

This is a wonderful idea! I think it would be great to have all the log cabin strips ready when you are, whether that's today or not.

burchquilts 07-24-2012 08:36 PM

Wow! I'm bored... can I come play in your stash? LOL! Awesome strips! Log Cabin to follow?

karenpatrick 07-25-2012 02:49 AM

Wow, girl. Git to sewin'!!

Chicca 07-25-2012 05:53 AM

Wonderful accomplishment! I always cut mine into various sized squares and store them in plastic containers; it really helps to manage scraps. I think I will give your method of storing strips a try.

red-warrior 07-25-2012 05:56 AM

WOW....good for you! Please post your log cabins so we can see them!

SheriR 07-25-2012 06:16 AM

Beautiful bin! I've bees cutting my strips into tiny squares for a trade and a future postage stamp quilt. I'm getting excited about it!

Delta 07-25-2012 06:18 AM

I did that for a while too-before cutting the strips

joyce blint 07-25-2012 11:41 AM

Wow! Such organization. I'm jealous!!

blondeslave 07-25-2012 11:43 AM

Ooh-pretty!

ArtsyOne 07-25-2012 11:46 AM

You are so organized! I buy fabric ahead of time that I think would make great binding - usually multicolored stripes - and then when I'm bored I make binding.

great idea.I have a few fabrics with stripes and I usually am not fond of them-but great bindings. Now I can cut some of them up too-oh goody

n2scraplvr 07-25-2012 02:05 PM

Great idea and so organized and prepared! I heard of this quilter once who cut ALL of her fabric into strips! She had them draped over clothes folding racks! I could not do this as I would invariably find a pattern calling for 8" squares! haha! You are NOW ready to sew a fabulous log cabin quilt! I need to try your idea sometime!

I like log cabins-but I will not cut all of my fabric into these strips-nice to have options.

bibi 07-26-2012 05:12 AM

Very impressive, good for you.

Blinkokr 07-26-2012 05:42 AM

You were very busy, great job and thank you for sharing.

Just asking here, doesn't the log cabin block use 2 inch strips instead of 2 1/2 inch. Come to think of it you can make your strips any size. Just thinking out loud here. Have a good time sewing.

Latrinka 07-26-2012 07:16 AM

Wow, so nice and neat! I just the other day put a bunch of strips I had cut onto a hanger, and hung it in my closet.

GramaLaura 07-26-2012 07:46 AM

charlottemarie 07-26-2012 12:31 PM

You are so neat! That's what I do when I get bored. Cutting fabric makes me happy.

Jingle 07-26-2012 12:47 PM

Good for you to use your time so wisely. Now you have so many pretty fabrics cut and ready to sew up. You have been so busy lately.

lollygagging 07-26-2012 12:50 PM

Good for you! Kudos for making what could have been "down time" into "productive time." Thanks for inspiring and sharing.

Quiltbaby 07-26-2012 12:54 PM

You have done an awesome job. I bet your sewing room is so neat and in order. I need help with my organizational skills in my sewing room. Great job!

EvelynJ 07-26-2012 01:25 PM

Wow, I can say that your organizational skills are much better than mine. I am intrigued by the variety of colors/patterns you have.
