The directions to my quilt group were that we had to use the white and the "ugliest fabric in my stash" to make a block. Be honest now, do you think I have a chance to win with my fabric and/or my block? :lol:

I've never heard of any batiks being considered ugly. Beautiful combination, I just don't see any ugly fabric

Great quilt block ... unique and looks nice and crisp with the white and contrast with the print.

I don't use alot of batiks so for me not my first choice to use but for ugly you have my vote.

Nope! You are sure to be a loser. Have you ever looked at the ugliest fabric contests on here? There is some shockingly ugly fabric in the world. I don't love your fabric, but there is some out there that is so-o-o-o much worse.

I love your block, and combination. I would either thread paint, or really embellish the white fabric. I see gaudy sequins and thread painted circles to compliment the batiks. What a cool challenge. There are some really ugly fabrics out there. ...as well as some unbelievably gorgeous prints- what a neet hobby:quilting!!!

Yes, I "created" this block in about 5 minutes, but I do see possibilities that more of them could create.

Once I thouht I had an ugly FQ, so I used part of it in a sample. Guess what? Both my DH and I wished I would've had more -and hadn't wasted any by putting it in a sample!!

You did a nice job, and I agree...you MIGHT win...I think these batiks aren't pretty.

Someone gave me similar ones some time ago and I used them up in a scrap quilt.

Other batiks I think CAN be beautiful, however.

So, you'd have my vote. Nice job, though. And you realize the end result isn't ugly, right?
