Will this pinwheel never end?

Finally figured out what I want to do with LA, took a picture, and my SIL immediately texts me to say one block is reversed.

Beautiful quilt!

bigredharley 03-13-2013 02:54 PM

Oh thank you. I made it my new avatar photo too, in case you couldn't see it.

adnil458 03-13-2013 02:55 PM

humility block....it is where it belongs :))

Buckeye Rose 03-13-2013 02:57 PM

Lower right corner, green one? If you hadn't said anything, I never would have seen it. The pinwheels look great!

Tartan 03-13-2013 02:59 PM

Noooooo! Well at least you can fix it before it's quilted. Very pretty pinwheels!

Shazeeda 03-13-2013 03:14 PM

I see the rebel pinwheel and I love it! don't change it! It just looks too cute to see that one pinwheel going in the opposite direction :)

tlambing 03-13-2013 03:22 PM

A friend of mine did a great valentine wall hanging, with one heart unintentionally on it's side. I LOVE it! and was glad she left it that way. I would leave it!

Adnil, love the "humility block" adage :) it made me smile.

Even now that I see it, it doesn't stand out.

bigredharley 03-13-2013 04:03 PM

thanks for the encouragement. I looked at it closely and I'm leaving it. There's no way I'd ever get a new one in exactly right.

dunster 03-13-2013 04:07 PM

It marches to its own beat. Lovely quilt.

aronel 03-13-2013 04:13 PM

I couldn't find it until someone else pointed it out - unless it bothers you - I would leave it. Most people would never notice!

nativetexan 03-13-2013 04:15 PM

hands off!! you did that on purpose to see if anyone was paying attention. it's a great quilt. don't fret the smalls stuff.

quiltsRfun 03-13-2013 04:32 PM

I had to look hard to find it. Great quilt.

Dina 03-13-2013 04:46 PM

I had to look three times to finally find it, and that is only after I read where it was. I am glad you have decided not to change it. It is a beautiful quilt, and that block does not look wrong, even when I know it is.

Beautiful quilt!

Dina

Maybe you could make your quilt "Standing out in a Crowd". See how many people figure that one out. I like it!!!!!

barny 03-13-2013 05:02 PM

Well, how are you going to stop the others from turning if you don't have it there to stop it. Please leave it there.

auntpiggylpn 03-13-2013 05:19 PM

I looked and looked for the oops and I still didn't see it until someone named it. Like someone else said it still doesn't stand out. I'm glad you are leaving it. I love pinwheels and this quilt is FABULOUS!!!

Are the fabrics all the same print but in different colors?

mighty 03-13-2013 05:41 PM

I really had to search to find it, I would leave it. Beautiful quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah in Brooklyn 03-13-2013 05:44 PM

"humility block" is awesome. I'm going to use that! I say leave it. It gives the quilt even more personality. Nice job!

quiltingcurious 03-13-2013 05:44 PM

It's stupendous! I love all the colors and love pinwheels, how will the LA quilt it?

Spice 03-13-2013 05:57 PM

The quilt is beautiful and I really had to look hard to find the error block. Leave it.

SherriB 03-13-2013 06:05 PM

I looked and looked and could not find the wrong way pinwheel. I even had trouble finding it when it was pointed out. I think your quilt is just gorgeous the way it is.

deanneellen 03-13-2013 06:15 PM

Your quilt is beautiful and I had to look three times before finding the "wrong-way pinwheel"! Looks fine to me.

dwinpdx 03-13-2013 06:17 PM

I found the twisted block after much looking, it looks great there and I love the "humility block" label. Thanks all!

fien777 03-14-2013 01:57 AM

My God...your SIL must have eagle-eyes.
I couldn't find it....and as others said before: even when pointed out I did have troubles to see it!!
Gorgeous quilt this is!!!!

SueDor 03-14-2013 02:11 AM

No one will notice. Your quilt is beautiful!

This quilt is on it's way to me to longarm. I'm not telling how I'll quilt it, but stay tuned! We'll be revealing it soon!

I'm glad that you decided to leave it. I made a pinwheel for my son a couple years ago as a Christmas present. I was about halfway through quilting it when I noticed that one square was turned the wrong way. I left it. Everyone says it adds to the authenticity of the quilt. And I wonder in generations to come, how many people will notice anyway?

Amythyst02 03-14-2013 03:52 AM

Well I looked and looked and until someone pointed out which one it was I could not find it. Great Quilt!!

Raine54RN 03-14-2013 04:34 AM

Send her a play tin quilt police badge, I had to look 3 times before I saw it and I would not change it either. It is what makes it unique and yours! I'm new and just finished first top, my corners don't always meet, I see a patch or two that maybe could go in a different place, but I love it and so does the recipient!

Retired Fire Chief 03-14-2013 04:34 AM

Beautiful quilt, I would count the reversed block as my signature block. I too had to look a couple of times before I found it.

kathbug 03-14-2013 04:46 AM

My sister tells me all the time when I mess up a square placement that that is what makes it so unique and homemade. Love it and I had to look really hard to fine it. Love the quilt and I would leave it as it is!

coopah 03-14-2013 04:53 AM

Well, it was SUPPOSED to be that way, right? Tell the SIL to stop looking for flaws!

all4flors 03-14-2013 04:55 AM

Yay! I love that you are going to "leave it". I always say that what makes it "hand made"!

JBeamer 03-14-2013 05:01 AM

Well I couldn't find it. had to read more of the post. It's great the way it is. Poo on sister. The pattern runs that way right!

CorgiNole 03-14-2013 06:03 AM

I didn't see it until the location was pointed out to me. I think it is a lovely quilt and the one block out of kilter is intentional (right?).

Cheers, K

MaryAnnMc 03-14-2013 06:09 AM

I don't care what your SIL says, I think it's one of the nicest quilts I've seen!

azsupergram 03-14-2013 06:21 AM

Just pretend it was planned and leave it for grins.

mariolkapolka 03-14-2013 06:42 AM

Awsome quilt, made my head spin though as I was trying to find the offender (fifth row, green all the way to right). If it was up to me I would fix it, good that you did not quilt it yet :)
