Can't help on the quilting, however, your applique blocks are exquisite - great job.

OK so it sounds like you need/want to do this yourself. You don't indicate if by hand or machine so I am assuming domestic machine.

Don't know how comfortable you are with FMQ but SITD around all the applique would be in order here. There is no reason you can't mix hand and machine. Back before I got my LA, I would do this quite often because my FMQ on a domestic machine were non-existent.

So I would hand quilt anything that wasn't a straight line. For background, it would be a ton of starts and stops but this would look spectacular with a simple 1" crosshatch done on point in the background of all the applique blocks. You can lay painters tape for your first line and then use that as a guage for the rest. Easily done with a walking foot and takes only patience and space to have the quilt supported while you work. The result, while simple, will be quite elegant and in line with the design.

Edited to add, an alternative to CH would be beadboard quilting. The two can easily be mixed. You may want beadboard behind the center panel and CH behind the surrounding blocks.
