Yellow Brick Road

I finished my 4th quilt for the year. The pattern is Yellow Brick Road, and I used a variety of pastel fat quarters in it. The backing is a soft pink fleece with minimal straight line quilting. I used my serger's wave stitch to make a decorative finish instead of putting a binding on the quilt. Several people have asked about using a serger for quilting. I liked the way this finish looked and it was quick and easy to do on my serger. It is for my mother who is in a nursing home. I will embroider her name on it before I give it to her for Easter. Thanks for looking.

That is a great idea for the edge with the serger, I would never have thought of that! Great work!

What a precious thing you are giving your mom for easter. I have never seen a finish on a quilt like that before. Clever!

Good luck with keeping it with your mother in the home, I had bought my mother diabetic socks and wrote her name on them, and both pair went missing. You did a great job. and keep up the good work. I haven't tried using my serger for the edging yet, but you gave me a great idea. Good luck to you and your mother.

What a great way to do binding! I kind of wish I hadn't traded my serger in now. LOL
