This was my first YBR, but it is not my last. I bought the kit in Idaho, but then did not get around to doing it until 18 months later, after we moved to Virginia.

I have another top finished in this pattern, but it is currently hiding from me. I will share it when it turns up. :P

Close up for detail on some of the fabrics.

Everyone of these look different, a veryversatile pattern, this and turning twenty are so much fun. You did a very nice job :D

So what is the difference between yellow brick road & turning twenty?

I have never done a Turning Twenty, but I think you have to cut out all the pieces individually, where the Yellow Brick Road has some stripping. I think Turning Twenty pieces are also a bit larger. (Just my impressions from watching a freind make a TT while I did my YBR at a quilt retreat.)

Like the colors you used. The YBR is fun, I've made several. One was from a pack of fat quarters given to me when I went on a quilt trip. So I named that quilt after the trip. But I've found another quilt is even more fun to make. It's called disappearing nine patch. It can be made from charm packs or you can cut your own squares. Just sew 9 squares together (all the same size) and then cut them in half vertically and again horizontally. Mix them up and sew them back together again. Bet you can't make just one!!

Oooo, I like those colors together!!

I did a Turning Twenty quilt for the Linus Project. You cut your pieces from fat quarters instead of strips.

Those are 12x12 blocks? If so, nice sized quilt. (72x84?) I hope to see it quilted.

Very nice combinations of fabrics. I suspect it will grace a bed nicely someday.

Do you have a picture of the Disappearing 9 patch? Would love to see it. I have several UFO's I am pushing to get done right now, so hate to even do a little of another one to visualize the finished product. You make it sound as if I would have trouble getting some of the other UFO's out of the way if I started it. (I am always eager to see, and try new blocks, especially if they go quickly and am quite envious of some of the projects I see here).
