Zippered Pouch!

I joined a sewing swap where we have to make a zippered pouch for our partner...mine is in New Zealand! Anywho, after much thought and debate, I decided on colors and a pattern.

Here it is! I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut out the sewing machine and heart applique. It has Heat n Bond on it plus I stitched it on. For my 2nd zippered pouch, it turned out pretty good I think.

Thanks everyone. The tutorial I followed was this one as she reminds you how to position your zipper teeth.

When I make a zippered pouch, I use the pattern called "Zippy Strippy" by Atkinson designs. It is so simple to make the pouch and install the sipper using that pattern. It is worth it to invest in the pattern.

I love that you put the sewing machine in the corner.

Nice work! What is Silhouette Portrait? I guess I should Google it.

LynnVT 01-17-2013 07:04 PM

Just looked it up. What a cool tool that is! I can't believe I never heard of it. Looks good for quilting and scrapbooking. Wow.

Thanks. I just got the Portrait last week so I am still learning it but I love it thus far.

I am excited about the possible feature and I hope my partner in the swap loves her new pouch.

You can go to www.craftygemini.com or you can use www.youtube.com . There are a couple of great ones on each site. On crafty gemini, go to her tutorials and scroll down to find them. On Youtube, use the search. I have made many pouches from both sites. :):):)

That should be a real winner for your swap partner. I think the fabric is a perfect choice, and that's a nice touch with the little sewing machine.

Thanks! I was so nervous because I was scared I would not make a cute pouch. I "shopped" around for colors and patterns. I finally went through my stash to see what jumped out at me and this what I came up with. The sewing machine idea came after I picked out the colors. Just thought the front needed something. I love it!
