Default "Puppies at Play"- hand embroidered project with my mom

My mom taught me to embroider these baby quilts when I was about 9. We made them for many of my cousins when they had their first babies. We both embroidered the blocks and then she sewed them together and tied them. Here we are at it again only with role reversals- we still both do the embroidery but now I am the one sewing them together. I am enjoying this so much- my mom has fun adding her own twist to things- she added the baby's name and woof woof to the wagon block. This baby came a bit early so caught us off guard- we had to get a move on! Finally finished the label (also hand embroidered) last night and can get it in the mail today.
A fun note to this- the new momma is my cousins daughter who has been married 12 years, finally having her first baby at age 35. Kinda fun to give her baby a quilt similar to the ones we made for her and her older sister.

Totally loving the memories! I'm 53 and she's 79. Who knows how many more we'll get to do- but am having fun while we can!

Thanks everybody for your nice comments. :-)

Your quilt is so adorable. I too, like to include embroidered blocks in my quilts and I think it just adds another interest and fun. You do a great job with the embroidered stitches.
