Puppy dog quilt
In January I was given about a yard of puppy dog fabric, background red. It's cute, but I had no idea what to do with it. Found a piece of spotty fabric in my stash and used it to make a checkerboard quilt, sashed it, made a pieced back for it. It's cute, but with my double vision, the spotty fabric is a little hard for me to look at for more than a few seconds.
The pieced back was made from 2 strips of a plaid fabric and one strip of a cream fabric. After piecing, I noticed that the cream fabric had a weaving defect - a hole of about one inch and weakness of weave a few inches around that. So the backing came apart, the piece was cut out, I had to re-arrange the pieces to make the backing work.
It looked weird to me; I wasn't happy with it. Then I let my brain wander and came up with the solution. I think it 'makes' the quilt!
Enjoy!

Cathyvv, this is what I said aloud when I saw the back. "This is so cute!" You did a marvelous job! Our family had a mixed collie that we raised from a pup until his death when I was in junior high school. As a dog lover I am always interested when I see a quilt like yours. I really think your quilt is more reversible than you'd imagine. Believe you me I have it bookmarked. Keep up the good work!
