Default Stack n wack for DH, Way Up North

This was a Christmas present for my DH. I had just enough of the focus fabric in my stash to make 15" blocks, the back shows the tiny bit of original focus fabric that I had leftover. The song, North to Alaska, by Johnny Horton has been a long time favorite of my DH, we sing it occasionally for friends and family when we want to get a good laugh. I sing the baritone part "way up north" while DH sings the verses. When I decided to use this north lodge, wildlife type print for his quilt, the name Way Up North seemed to fit it to a T.I made it "recliner" sized, about 56x70.

Gorgeous quilt. It is awesome how different from the original fabric all the blocks turned out. The name is just perfect.
    Great job!

Wow, the quilt you made for your dh is very striking! It is always hard for people to find patterns they feel are masculine. I think you have found the perfect pattern to use those "Male/northwoods" fabrics in. I will keep this in mind for the next time I need to make a quilt for a male (our family is heavily into nature/woods/animals). Thanks for sharing.

Stunning quilt, I love the little black triangles they really make the blocks pop!

Great job! Love to see the "before" fabric too so thanks for posting that. I want to make a "recliner" quilt for my hubby since he seems to run colder these days.....we did an about-face with our temperatures. lol
