The QR code is for scanning an item either for sale or for placement in a larger article.

QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode) first designed for the automotive industry in Japan.

You can use the QR code with a smart phone to investigate a company of intererest, or a website, etc.
