I would save the applique for another quilt unless you are going to have solid blocks between or a panel in the middle......excellent work on the points and great colors
:D

Terrific blocks and great job on the points..Wow! I like your bright color combination too. You already have the info. on the applique from others, so I'll just say be sure to post again with more progress. We love to see!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the positive responses. I guess I should have explained that this is a small wall hanging for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The block (a windmill) was chosen because we are Dutch. I am hoping to do an appliqued silhoutte of a wedding photo of my parents. I am still looking for the right photo! I have some coming from my aunt in Holland.

The red is for a Ruby anniversary, the blue for Delft (where my parents met), and the yellow is for Hawaii where we are all celebrating their anniversary.

So that is the plan for now... we'll see where it goes.

Again thank you all for the encouragement!

Have you thought about maybe doing your applique work in a wide border of one of the main colors. I think you could probably do some really pretty red Hibiscus on a yellow border or at least as cornerstones on the border to keep with the Hawaiian theme. Just a thought.
