Default Quilt for a friend

I think the pattern is called Jewel Box. I asked what colors he and his wife would like and he said blue and beige. Showed him a pallet of blue and asked, "What kind of blue?" You never know if it's turquoise, or whatever, especially when asking a man that question! I have a ton of batiks that I got some time ago (posted about getting 64 yards with a bonus I got at work) and I used 7 of them. The background is also a batik called Antique Beige. It looks really yellow in some lights. Pretty easy pattern to make, just the same thing over and over again.

For the quilting I came up with this design because it reminds me of water and sand. The straight ripples coming out from the water and the pebbles on the shore. I haven't decided about the border yet... still thinking about it as I quilt along. When I'm done with the beige thread I'll go back, remove my ruler plate, and do blue in the squares.

Yes, I missed the right side triangle on the first row

Pam,
That's the kind of quilt a person can just look at and look at. Your friends will sleep well under it.
