Default Quilt I made for my son's 7th Birthday...8 years ago

Today is my oldest sons 15th birthday! In honor of his birthday I have to share with all of you the quilt that I made for him when he turned 7 years old. He still uses it and sleeps with it every night :-)
When he was younger he was obsessed with Pokemon. I think at the time I had only made small baby quilts so this was my first large quilt. He had this lego wall hanging of the pokemon Charizard. I took that lego wall hanging and graph paper and completely graphed out a pattern for a quilt. It has over 2200 2.5" squares. There are so many mistakes in it and I've offered to make him a new quilt that looks better but he says he already has one. The next one I make for him will be a t-shirt quilt for his high school graduation!

So great! Obviously he loved the quilt when he got it and STILL loves it - and now he's getting old enough to understand all that you put into it - the love, your hopes and dreams for him. And so cool to have that picture from the first day and again today!
