I've just finished my first quilt for Mum. Not my first quilt ever, just the first one for her.

It's around 60" square, hand & machine pieced, and hand quilted. Over 1,200 hours has gone into the making of this quilt.

The last hurdle - washing it - was probably the most traumatic time as the teal colored backing fabric leached into the cream fabric on the front (yes I did pre-wash). Very stressful.

Hope you enjoy.

Hung out to dry

Just glorious!

Glad you kept at trying different solutions to get the bleeding backing under control.

What a lucky mum :)

Beautiful quilt. Love the pattern and the colors are great. The quilting is awesome!
Now I am wondering why did you wash it after it was done?

Absolutely gorgeous quilt. I read your earlier post about the fabric bleeding through, but you can't see any in the pictures. So glad it all turned out okay.

Your Mum is going to be so happy!
