It IS a beautiful gesture and a wonderful gift to receive, but I can say that after almost 20 years of retirement I have enjoyed using all of those mugs. Some of them I remember the giver, but most I don't. (Wish I had written the names under them). I have them repurposed in several places of my home. Several are holding large spools of thread on my shelf near the sewing machine.

What a great gift, and in her chosen colors too. You are one special lady. I taught 39 years, 7th and 8th grade English. I loved all the gifts I got, but my absolute favorite was a bag that a parent made me. It was perfect for carrying the tons of papers I graded daily, and it was obviously made just for me....my favor colors AND cat fabric.

But a quilt, wow! That would have blown me away!
