I finished this quilt top this weekend, and have to set it aside for a little bit, before I can finish it. It will be a surprise for my daughter for a Christmas gift. You can see from the close-up, it has 2 Christmas fabrics, one showing the holy family and angels, and the other made me think of wrapped packages. The funny thing is that she stopped at my house this morning after church, and she saw it, but I just said that it was probably going to a friend. And, the best part, is that she really liked it, so I know that next Christmas, she will be happy with it. It will end up a little over 60x80 inches. Lots of snuggle room.

    This is the quilt top

Here is a close up to see the fabrics better

The starry blue is the flannel I will use for the backing. I will even make her a flannel pillow case if I have leftover.

It is beautiful. How nice that you know already that she likes it. You are very smart to get it finished now and not wait until next fall

That is because I have 2 other daughters that I need to do quilts for, unbeknownst to them, and 2 high school seniors getting their senior quilt next Christmas. I have to stay ahead of the game.

Good that your starting now. I started one for my son in October it was going to be part of his Christmas present. It is still sitting here, I'm almost finished hand quilting and then for the binding. I'm hoping to have it finished by this weekend. Whew.....

How surprised she will be come Christmas! I know I would forget about it by then, especially since ya already told her it was going to someone else. What a great way to catch her off guard, and the quilt is just lovely too.
