This is the first quilt I made during a class and it followed me everywhere I moved until I finally finished it (without proper binding mind you) last year to give it to my dad. He has since taken it to his cottage, and I have only this one picture that his partner took when he opened his present. It is handquilted and far from perfect, but I still like it and will hopefully put real binding on it one day when I get to spend more time with my dad.
Sorry that there are no close-ups :(

Fits with his decor I'd say. That's great that you were able to finish it after all that time. It's really cute.

Bravo for finishing it, then giving it away! I finished my first one, but it is in a closet somewhere.

I love it. And I am sure your Dad does also. It is perfect for a cabin quilt. And don't beat yourself up about the binding, it is being loved and used, that is all that counts.
