Smile A Quilted Lap Top Bag

Sometimes I'm so proud of my students I just have to share! (This is one of those times...)

Here's some photos of a lap top bag that one of my student's made for her Aunt who travels all the time. Rachel designed the bag and even quilted the fabric first. The thin cotton tribal fabric we got from Africa would not protect the bag very much, so she added a layer of batting and backing and then quilted rows of stitching to form diamonds. Then she designed and made the bag. She added a side pocket on the front, a pocket in the bag, and the closure was a zipper.
Her Aunt loves the bag for her lap top and travels with it all the time!

What a terrific bag! You must be a very good teacher to be able to give a student the confidence to design it herself!
