I have made several quilts for family members and love doing it. They are all so appreciative and had no idea that I was making a quilt for them, so it was so nice to see the surprise on their faces when presented with the quilts.

grandmother's fan. It is a favorite of mine. This one is Connie's. She covers it every day with a sheet so her cats won't get hair on it. LOL

another Grandmother's fan. For a brother and wife. It is a poor photo, but the fabric is black with floral design. I have to bind it, but the handquilting is done.

Navy and white Irish Chain with prairie points for my sister. All the quilts are queen size.

How lovely. These really take me back in time. I knew that pattern as Fanny's Fan, and some old pictures showed Grandma in bed with the quilt fans going straight up, some old pictures showed them leaning right or left, depending on who made it.

I imagine that when women "went West" in wagon trains, their quilts changed names as they met other women with variations on each one. Doesn't matter, these are part of our past.

One of my "modern" granddaughters wants a couch throw like this, didn't know the pattern, just said the pretty quarter circles with long triangles of color and flowers!!!! And warm.
