Default Quilts for Guatemala

I was on a mission trip for the Guatemala Project in February, installing fuel efficient stoves. You know how, when you do something like this, you think you're being charitable? Well, I received so much more than I gave! The people there who helped us were the dearest people I've ever met, living in their houses with dirt floors and tin roofs, and smiling and gracious as could be. I wanted to thank them, and for me, that's making them a quilt. These have some photo fabric on the back. The July team that went down presented them, and I think they liked the back better than the front! Don't you love that you can get so much pleasure from something that gives pleasure in return?!!

These are all lovely and represent a lot of time; I enjoyed reading your comments and can feel your pleasure in being able to give these. They are so colorful and from what you said the backing does indeed sound like the recipients would find them very meaningful. Nice memories for all.

Beautiful quilts! Loved your story and your inspiration. The best part of giving from the heart is the appreciation of receiving a specially made quilt. Bless you for the wonderful work you do!

Great job you've done ~ both in volunteering over there and making the quilts to send to the people you met and enjoyed so much. The quilts are beautiful and I'm sure they will be much loved!
