Thanks to the three board members for inspiration and tutorial I worked up a cool project today. I wanted to try Trapunto after seeing Joy's Stars & Sunflowers quilt. Shortly after that, SandPat gave us a wonderful tute on how to do it. Soon after, abdconsultant showed us a neat idea to display pretty fabrics in embroidery hoops. So I decided to try my hand at trapunto and display it in a hoop. I had also wanted to try micro-stipling so this was a perfect project for that as well.
I'm happy with it! It needs to be centered more, trimmed, and I want to put lace or something around it. I had intentionally left some border area un-quilted as a "frame" but I might go back and fill it in with micro stipling. I was OK with the micro stipling but it sure is tiresome!
This is a great way to learn a new technique and not waste a whole project, yet still have something to show for it. Thanks ladies!!
This is in an 8" hoop.

Even though it's machine work though, it was still exhausting! I took several breaks. If for nothing else to re-adjust my eyes to focus on something more than 18" from my face.
