thanks, all, for your kinds words. :-)

i used a wavy ruler to make the borders. i didn't use binding. i cut two layers of each border and turned it right-sides out after sewing around the edges. on the back i just turned under the straight edges and basted them down. when i deco-stitched the top, it fastened the back of the border at the same time.
Nice quilt...interesting technique. Can you show a close up of the border/edge area so we can see what it looks like?

Yes, quite a bit. Thanks for posting. That's an interesting technique!! Have you made a tute for it here on the board? I think a lot of people would find that incredibly useful!! So many people hate the binding part (not me, I love it, but I'm weird!!) and this seems like a great alternative.
