    Thanks everyone. It's been up on my wall for quite some time. Now to get it finished. Since I don't hand quilt anymore, I think I'll stipple in the setting triangles and think of something for the blocks; maybe feathers in the outer border. Although feathers won't show up well, that's okay as it'll be the first time I try a new feather technique.

    I've never seen a pattern like that. I love how it turned out. Scrappy rules!

    quiltluvr-in Darlene Zimmerman's book Quick Quilted Miniatures she has the pattern with this setting arrangement, but her version is not so scrappy. It has just 2 colors in each block with the background colors the same in all 5 blocks and setting triangles.

    That's at least one reason I wouldn't have seen it. Mini's would give me fits. I can barely see the big pieces at times.

    There's really no reason why you can't make the HST 2" cut to finish at 1 1/2". The overall block would then be 7 1/2 " finished. HST 2 1/2" cut to finish 2" would then produce a 10 inch block. I think it's a nice setting.
