I didn't have a pattern but did have the center two pieces already sewn. I just used the picture I saw for and idea of what to do on each round. It is just a square in a square. only thing I did different from the pictured one was to add a small strip around a couple squares to highlight them. You can used my picture as a reference if you want.

I found this neat online calculator to use to determine what size squares to make to cut the triangles for each round. I added a little extra to the calculated size to give me some trimming room.

How fun...reminds me that Spring is coming...all the lovely colors. Thank you for sharing...I am collecting selvages ..but some times I think I cut too close for them to be of any use. Thank you for posting.

I have a lot of then given to me that aren't big enough. I like to have a half inch of the main fabric showing, don't always get it. When I start a project if figure out what width I need to get the number of pieces cut from it....then add a little bit for straightening and I cut the rest off along with the selvage. I like big long pieces so may cut the selvage from a whole yard of fabric, or if I'm trimming for backing do the whole piece in one cut..
