Are you the clever one. They are great quilts. These quilts look usable and not ones to just look at and I like that.

Beautiful quilts. I would have never thought of looking thru the shirts for fabrics. Lol, you should have seen the looks I got when I was closely studying one of the wedding dresses at the local resale shop. I know they were wondering why I would be looking at THAT, lol. Because it was beautiful, large, and had a full train of gorgeous fabric....but I did pass.

Who knew that shirts could turn out like this? I sure didn't. They are just great and I applaud your genius. Way to go!

You are a lady after my heart. I simply love scrap quilt. I was recently reciepent of some large dresses to recycle. They yield a lot in scraps. Then I was given some scrub sets to cut. Beautiful material. Hey let the thirties roll again!

BTW, a man's shirt yields 40 to 55 charms, plus a variable number of 1/4 charms. I made a quilt of my own design and then found the Nickle Quilts books by Pat Speth. I have other quilts planned and these 3 tops are not quilted yet... another board member asked me to post my wip. I admire scrappy quilts but I'm a mathematician so I have a hard time just grabbing and sewing, but I pushed myself on the first 2 (still need lots of work on color values), then succumbed to a more ordered one for the third.

First pic. my design, 'lil twister border.
Pic Two "Woodland Clover" from "More Nickle Quilts",
pic three "Pinwheels on Parade" from "More Nickle Quilts",
love them all
