My DH found this lovely needlework box for me on our local internet trading site. He paid $35 NZ and although second hand it's in really good condtion. I'm now wondering just how old this could be, I know it's not that old but maybe from the 70s or who knows!! Anyway I am really pleased with it and shall use it for all my hand quilting bits and pieces.

Thanks everyone, and to Rainy Day, yes that's what I thought, around the 70's as I remember much larger ones in the same design and also the same design without the handles but with legs which meant that it was the same height next to you when sitting down to sew in say an armchair etc. I am thrilled with this little size as I wanted something to pop everything into whilst hand quilting in the evenings in front of telly. (Hubby likes me to watch the old reruns, some in black and white) I keep two ears on the telly and both eyes on the quilting, shhhhhhh, you didn't hear me say that!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Joann's carries those, but they are beautiful. God bless. Penny

I am seriously drooling - what a find, and what a beauty!

Well done. I'm green with envy.

I don't know how old it is but I can tell you that I inherited my mother's in 03 and love it!!! She'd had it for years but I don't know if she got it new or used. It sits by my living room chair and holds my hand sewing.
