reversable Christmas place mat

I needed to do something easy to build my confidence, and I need desperately to practice binding. So I made this place mat and hope to make a whole set. A while ago, someone on this board mentioned binding that extends more on one side than the other. You can see the results of doing binding this way - this is completely by machine. The binding turned out okay, but my corners need a lot of improving. I guess I need to make a lot more place mats!
Front - I call this "Peppermint Sticks"

Looks to me like you're well on your way. This is great and should be a super confidence booster. Just remember, Quilting is NOT rocket science or brain surgery. Just have fun and never be afraid to try new things.
