Hmmm... Let me see if I have this straight so far... I am going to marry Brat's son (for a quilt), she is going to marry BOTH my DH (can't remember why) and Tlambings (for her computer skills). She already has Jaba wrapped around her finger and moved to be next to her... SandyinZ4 - you need to run away fast because YOU ARE NEXT bwah hah hah! I'm ready to send Jaba's center on to you, BTW, hope to photo it and mail it in the next few days. Today I need to clean the chicken coop...

Good morning...just a quick reply because I have to get back to fabric. I unloadeded every piece of fabric I had and it is scattered on the guest bed and cutting table just to look for my patriotic stash. So I am going to sort and arrange today then get started on Miriam's. I have a good idea of what I am going to do for the next border...just have to do math and calculations to get it to come out right. Plus I need to go re-read the rules and see what size of border I need to put on. I am thinking and hoping it is 6 inches because what I want to do will look better larger than smaller, I think. But don't hold your breath...it won't be anything fancy but still will tie in. When I get fabric back on shelves and math done, I will audition a block and get everyone's opinion. Company has not shown up yet...so betting they will while I have this big cluttered mess. But my stash will be better afterward because then maybe I can find something. Oh, the patriotic stuff was in the very last tub I looked in! Figures!

OH!!! so excited, hurry hurry with that chicken coop. I want to see a pic, really truly I do.
Not sure about that Brat, she certainly has lots of husbands, mine is her "honey do" hubby, I'm her fabric-sew slave (can't quite fit around her finger yet though) and she is my cook queen. Got to figure out where "her Steve" fits in here, think he needs a job too. He's got way too much idle time. My hubby just left to go to her house and install a new ceiling light for her, gees, he forgot to do my stuff first. Hope she doesn't tire him out to much....

Finally made it to the PO today to ship Brats quilt on to Jaba. What a week!

Was able to slow cook down some fig butter overnight and canned 4 little 1/2 pint jars. Take that Jan

I did get the top done for the Fall table runner swap tonight. It turned out so cool. Hoping to sandwich and quilt it out tomorrow.
And then on to embellishments. I've had so much fun with this one. Thanks to Brat for fixing me up with someone that has little ones (I got to do Halloween!)

Sandy, you've made me tired just reading of all your moving and organizing and hunting and stuff! You go girl!

Now with all this talk of marrying we should rename our group the Sister wives round robin. We would create a force to be reckoned with, with all our amazing talents! I'll take the computer skills division.

I'll watch for it and let you know when I finally get it. Have to show it to brat and see what she wants next, hopefully I can sew it.
Bet your fig butter will taste pretty good. Do you use it as a spread, like on toast?
Got my fall runner done too and just finished the home decor swap items for 2 partners. Think I'm going to package them up today so I can mail tomorrow. I get those things sewn and it drives me nuts when they sit around here. Start second guessing myself and make another one ...now I have 3 fall table runners to quilt today. Brat had some beautiful fabric with pears on it in the fall colors and made a fantastic runner for me. It needs to be on my dining room table so need to quilt it today. Will post a pic so you can see when I get it done.
That's about all the news today so far from this house so will check in later. Have a good one "sister wives"

Yes Jan, I love figs and it makes a great toast topper. As well as being great a little warmed over vanilla ice cream
The smell in the house was wonderful! Had me feeling fall for a while. I thought of my mother while I was producing this batch. She always made jams and jellies. Taught me to can from a very young age. I was really lucky to have such a great mom. Sure do miss her. She passed in 2006 from early onset Alzheimer's. So, every time I find something that reminds me of her I cherish the moment. Sewing is another way I remember/honor mom. She taught all of us girls to sew, but I'm the only one that enjoys it and carries on.
Have a wonderful Sunday all.

Hi there Road runner sister wives... son and d-i-l should be here in a few hours so I need to get lasagna started but wanted to get your opinion before I go any further. First of all, I have to say that I hope a 'round robin' is fairly flexible because none of us probably have the exact match of fabric to go with what others have. Ok..attached is picture of what I have in mind to do. My little x blocks measure 3 inches unfinished so will be a bit smaller when sewn together around the edge. I plan to do a small, blue border( about the color of the center of block) around everything first to transition to the little x-blocks. So, Miriam, will this be ok or do you want me to go in another direction? My fabrics aren't quite the bright red but still patriotic looking. Didn't want to make too many of those little critters if you don't like them. They are 2 inch squares and then 1 1/4 inch for the corner beige. Yikes! You will have time to give me all of your opinions as I will be busy for a few days and doubt I will get back to sewing room until Wed/Thurs. :-) Wishing everyone a good week. Anxious to see what all of you are coming up with.

I love it! Have a great week and do not stress too much. I have been auditioning ideas for tlambing's this afternoon, thinking about some embellishments and bling (very subdued bling, nothing flashy or gaudy, I promise!). Now off to feed DH and the animals...

Ooohhh! Bling! I LOVE bling...keep that thought in mind when mine comes around to you Miriam. :-) Now both Teresa and I are going to be anxious to see what you have in mind. Company is still sacked out after long drive so had a little bit of time to check inand seeif there was any more news. :-) Will get started on the rest of your X's and O'sas soon I I can, TRF (Miriam). I want to wait until I get all of them done before I add the blue border. I thought that way I could fudge a little and make them fit evenly around the outer edge. Brat, can we fudge a little bit on size of second border if we have to? Or does it have to be 4 1/4 " when it is sewn on? I vote for a bit of fudging!:-)
