Then you can play with any variation putting the quilt together, and get different patterns like log cabin blocks do. I play with my designs on my ipad to check out how a quilt might look and give me general dimensions. This one came out a little bigger than planned, but that is okay by me!

That is lovely. I'm thrilled you found the fabrics at WalMart. I don't think it needs a border, but if you wanted to add one - black would be my choice.

How about just a straight line down the middle of the stripes in the color they are. It would help the diamond shape show up without messing up the design. I might put on a 3 or 4 inch black border just to have a place for the eye to rest.
