Now that I have seen your quilt I have started sourcing the fabric on line as we don't have a shop near us here. I have spent a good couple of days going through the book and drooling over the patterns and wondering if I dared to be so ambitious. Now I just feel excited about trying something new. We don't have a quilting group near me and it is so helpful when the rest of you more experienced quilters are generous enough to share your wonderful work.

When you say triple stitch function on the machine, do you mean a stitch with 3 rows of stitching? I have a Janome and it has that. I have the kit and haven't started it, bought when our quilt shop was going out of business. Those that did it in my area do a raw edge applique - fuse, then one row of stitching real close to the raw edge.
