If you're looking for a quick and easy way to support our troops, consider making stockings for soldiers. The Stocking for Soldiers organization has volunteers making and stuffing stockings for troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. I sew stockings for them (they have a particular pattern they provide you), but they also have a need for items to go in the stockings. You can find out more at http://www.stockingsforsoldiers.org/ .

I just finished 30 more stockings today. And my Elvis ones are here: http://debzpicaday.blogspot.com/2011...15-of-365.html

That is wonderful and very generous. When my son was deployed for "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and "Operation Enduring Freedom" and others that I can't think of right now, we sent care package also. Hats off to all our military members.

What a great thing to do. I'm thinking I'd like to encourage my dd 2nd grade class to put together some snowman soup. They'd love to get involved. Hmmm, something to mention to her teacher.

Thanks for letting us know about this great cause.

We made 132 stockings the first week of September for soldiers.Being quilters, we piece the fronts of course! We work through Boatsie's Boxes in Wheeling WV. Over the last 6 years we've made about 1000 stockings that our church members have filled. It's very rewarding and hearing back from soldiers who have received them is terrific. Prayers for our military!
