Grrr.... I have had these 8 sets of charm squares for a year and finally got around to doing the pattern I had chosen. Well, somehow I mis-counted what I needed of the most solid colored ones. I was going to do a Cumberland design and use the solid ones as the outline of each "star". Well, I need 6 the same for each star, not 4, so I am short 4 to do two of each (I hope that makes sence).

So, do I partially stay with the original plan and make one whole colored star and a partial of another? Or, do I scrap the whole coloring plan and just do it random?

The first picture is what I was originally going to do. The seconds is what I actually can do with what I have.

I like the second choice just as well as the first... to me the second one shows off the stars better.

Thanks. I think I will just do random. I figured it out again, sorted out what needs color/color and what needs color/white.

I don't have a pattern for it. I saw it online and I believe it's an old traditional pattern. It was called Cumberland. It's just HSTs set a certain way to get the stars.

I really like the first one. You CAN see the stars in the different colors. I like the first one...that follows your plan most closely. Joanie

I've seen this pattern on about.com. It's called Stetched Stars.
