Default Sampler quilt top finished

This is a sampler quilt that is mostly based off of one in the book Bella Bella Sampler quilts. The blocks are mostly paper pieced, it was my first time doing large amounts of paper piecing and I decided I don't like it very much. I would do it again for small amounts but not for anything this big. I ended up being happy with the results but was frustrated getting it done.

The background behind the half circles is a fabric I've been trying to use up for a few years. Normally I only buy with a particular project in mind, I bought 2 yards of this and it totally didn't work in my project. Note to self: never ever again buy a fabric with the color name of "Pond Scum"!

I think it is beautiful and I don't see any "pond scum" - although I can't imagine naming a fabric that.

Really beautiful sampler quilt-very different and gorgeous. But, I can see your point about the amount of time it takes to do paper pieced blocks. But, in my opinion, the results were worth the time.

It's done and it's beautiful!! Clever use of the "Pond Scum" fabric...quite the name, but it looks good with the rest of the quilt. Enjoy!
