Default Sandy's flag

Sandy is certainly ready for the 4th of July with this bright flag quilt. She started piecing with a wonderful woven heart that is appliqued to the center block. Then the quilt was passed around as a Round Robbin with her friends adding "borders". Sandy then finished it up by adding the last four borders. The little gold stars are embellishments that were hand sewn with a small clear bead in the center of each star. Love the ribbon border! Great job by all!

Default Susa's Spools

When Susa brought me this Spool quilt - I knew I was going to have fun quilting it. Piano keyed the border, meandered the background, then settled down to quilting the spools to look as though they contained actual thread. I changed color quiet often to match the spools and stitched little trails of threads off onto the background. Hobbs 80/20 batting was used. Susa teaches clothing construction at a local university, knows a lot about fabrics and colors. I always look forward to what she brings me!

Both are great projects. The quilting on the spools really grabs my attention. Thanks for sharing.

I am in love with the patriotic quilt. I want one just like it. The spools are beautiful. The quilting on both are fantastic. I have quilt envy.
