Default Santa Fe Style Quilt

Just finished this quilt for my son's very significant other. He said she likes pink and brown. As they live in Arizona I thought of desert colors. The quilt pattern is titled Santa Fe Style and is by Barbara Oliver Hartman. I have had this pattern since about 1990, copyright date is 1989. I changed the instructions, it called for making plastic templates, to rotary cutting instructions and used Triangulations for the half square triangles and designed my paper piecing pattern for the flying geese blocks. The pink and the brown fabrics are 100% cotton sheets as is the backing. The turqoise looks like a solid but is a Laurel Burch Basic by Clothworks, slightly mottled with very small gold dots. The batting is 100% cotton, Nature's Touch by Pellon. I pre-shrank the batting because the top and back fabrics has already been washed. I am not really happy with the look of the batting, the quilt is already crinkly before washing. All of the straight lines are stitched in the ditch and I added some FMQ spirals to areas that needed quilting. If I were to make this quilt again I would use the Quilt As You Go method.
