Default Sashiko mini

Our guild program this month was a lesson in Sashiko. The light was poor at the clubhouse, so had to work on it in better light [you know how that is when working with black]. I'm not a hand quilter, so this was a little new to me. After a little bit, I decided I like it. I had just collected a number of b/w FQs, so had a hard time picking one for the border/frame.

I've never heard of sashiko but I see that I love it. What a beautiful mini & the border is perfect.

That is tiny! Did you use pre-printed Sashiko panels? I recently did a bunch of Sashiko for a WIP and ordered the preprinted blocks so I could grow accustomed to the proper stitch size. I wanted to go much smaller from my hand quilting days. After doing several I did a block that I marked the design myself. I had to work on not going too small with the stitches. I really enjoyed doing it and even did a couple of pieces with some fancy sparkly thread. Sashiko can be addictive.
