I hope it ends up in a museum someday.

These are two other variations of Forbes tartan. My youngest son has dress Forbes which is a very dark variation. There is an 1830 special order one that is available which is more grass green and is the only one with a red stripe. My youngest daughter wears the same as her brother on the left to school as part of her winter uniform.
Land thank you all for the kind words. I'd be honoured if it ended up in a museum. That'd be wow!

It is so amazing and so much information. My dad's parents came to the US from Glasgow (?sp) but died before I was ever born. My dad and his siblings were all born here in WV and he did not give me any history.

What a fabulous testament to your families roots and heritage. The quilt will be treasured and I am sure your sister will be thrilled beyond words as she discovers each gem of Scotland you carefully crafted into this quilt.
