I have to do more before I have a scrap Avalanche! I like the way the scrap buster block is already quilted to the batting. When I get a bunch of blocks done into a top, I will put on the backing and just straight stitch in the sashing to hold the layers together. Opps, I just had scraps fall off the pile again. Back to the machine.
Great scrap block! Have to put this on my bucket list. What are your strip sizes? 1 1/2" and 2"?[/ I am using my batt trimmings from around quilts I've saved, so I just cut about 13 inch long sections, sew and flip along them and then I trim the side edges straight to whatever width I can get. (I give the strips a good ironing before trimming.)These in this block are from 2 to 3 inches wide. After sewing the 1 inch sashing to make the block, I used my big square to trim to 12-1/2.
