A teenaged young woman asked me to make her a quilt using her favorite color of this green, and variatons of purples.. she didn't mind it being scrappy, since scrappy is my first true (quilting ) love.. I need some ideas for a border , or several borders.. anyone want to give some ideas - I tryed doing a braid around the edge, but did not like it for some reason.. borders are not my favorite thing to do - so I am stumped..

Do you need to make it larger? I like it as it is....maybe just bind it in the green?

i think the size is good.. she didn't care about how large.. its more the " finishing" that I dont have an idea for..

How about a green top and bottom border to match sides?

only have odd sized strips of the green left.. but just had a thought.. what do ya'll think about a scrappy ( end to end, sewn strip of purple fabrics? ) border ? would that look ok, as I have already put on a 1 1/2 inch wide white border..

That would tie it all together. Sounds like a good idea.

I like the idea of the purple scrappy border - but please put in just a hint or two of that orange. Wow - I really like the effect in the body of the quilt.

that orange/goldish colored fabric just appeared out of no where, lol.. but it kinda breaks up the top, huh? I think that if I do a scrappy border sewing end, to end, i will throw in a piece of some kind of orange/goldish color just to make it unique..
