here's the log cabin i've been working on--one of few with sashing. saw it in a book & had to try it--works up rather nice & EZ--uncontrolled as well.......

I like it. Do you start with a square and build from the "corner" with four strips, make four of these, and join to make your block? Less scraps, now more fabric!
