Thank you!
The colours shown are pretty close to true, though they just don't have the dance in them, that you see IRL!
If you'd like to see more FWS completed quilts, most of which are scrappy, as well as more shots of mine, please check out this thread ........

This thread has kept me in eye candy for the past couple days - of course that means I'm not getting anything else done either. But we DO have heat warnings for today & tomorrow for possible over 120 so this is the place to be & I'll add some of my scrappy creations I've managed to get pictures of in the age of web pages and digital cameras. One of the ones I'm trying to complete is the Farmers Wife which I worked on w/a group of ladies as BOM on this site starting a year ago October. Again, quit last year w/about 6 blocks to completion. I think it was by far the most fun as every block is distinctly different which makes it a real scrappy...

They are beautiful! I can't pick a favorite! I had an Aunt Jody that we sometimes called Aunt Jo. I still miss her. I lost her in the fall o' '03, My Grandad in Feb of '05, My Dad & DFIL in March of '09. (MY DMIL has Alzhimer's so I've lost her too.) These losses are all wrapped up in each other. Someday I'll quit cryin'. I will say that buyin' my DGD's house has gone a long way in the healin' process! DGM sold it in '06 & I just bought it last month. It will be my "lake house"! I'm puttin' all o' DMIL's furniture there, so that is healin' too. I feel they are w/me there.

Oops I see that I started ramblin' again. I'm so sorry.

Oh my goodness! I'm going to spend hours on that thread.
Another one for my bucket list ... and since I just turned 60 I guess I'd better start taking better care of myself so I can get it all done!

Oh yes Krystyna ... you should do a FWS!
A block here and there and they soon add up .... and then you get possessed with it until you finish it right off! Post them on the FWS threads as you make them, and you'll get lots of cheers and support along the way!

Well, since I am on a fabric fast and intent on sewing through my considerable stash, this might be the project for me! Book recommendations?

QuiltE yours is sooooo beautiful! They all are. Uh oh! A new obsession!

There's only one book ... The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt by Laurie Aaron Hird.

You can order it from her on her site/blog.
Some stores carry it and I know some purchased it thru Amazon, etc.

If you're interested, Laurie offers a personalization if it's ordered from her.

Or you might consider the FWS Pony Club Quilt also by Laurie ... or both! And remember, there's active followers to the threads for both of these quilts, so you're sure to have company along your journey(s).

As for scrap buster ... the only new material I purchased was the sashing, cornerstones, borders and binding. Everything else I had, including backing material which I felt was as a good of a match/blend as any I would have purchased!

So Krystyna .. order it up and start stitching!

Just ordered it ... and now the Pony Club makes sense! I thought everyone was making quilts with ponies on them! DUH.
