I can see why you might not have liked that backing fabric, but it is beautiful here. I really like it, especially with that cute row of blocks to set it off. (Or maybe the backing fabric sets off the blocks? ? ?)

Oh I just love that quilt! I love scrappy and the stories and events they represent. I had not thought of those black fabrics with intense colors for binding but love yours and think I will buy some for my scrappy quilts.
