My 17yr old son decided he wanted a rag quilt and it had to be "manly" colors. We teased him that manly could be about anything and he needed to be more specific or he was getting hot pink. He is a fisherman so we decided to put fish on it. We picked up a FQ of the raccoon fabric because it was so cute and reminded us of the raccoon stealing a huge salmon fillet right out of the cooler one night. The pebbles in the corners are left from another project. After all the teasing about hot pink we just had to put the label on hot pink! He loves it. I forgot the date on the label, and sewed it on upside down. It, of course, did not shrink like the flannel did. My son laughed and said that I should make one mistake on every quilt and this one can be the label. I figured that's 3 mistakes on the label so it needs to be redone.

Sean with quilt, you can see upside down label at bottom!

I have two sons and I've made several quilts for each one of them, but I'm very careful that the fabric doesn't have any flowers or hot pink on it. So far they have liked all of them, but it is always so tempting to "hide" a flower or hot pink in the quilt somewhere.

No such thing as an "upside down" label! As long as it is on the back, who cares!

Great job, mama, very sweet! My older boy loves pink, tho. All boy, but he sews, likes stuffed animals, and doesn't care what others think.

My six foot five Army Master Sgt son-in-law wears a pink shirt his daughter, my GD gave him. He said that a real man wore any darned color he wanted to. (As long as the Army didn't get to know about it.)
