I decided to pull out some of the other heavy duty fabric from the yard sale and try a mega tote. This one is 20" x 20", has the pocket under the flap, and I used the extra length on the straps to make loops on the inside sides that can be used to hold gloves, scarves, whatever. I haven't put a button on it yet, because I haven't decided what to use on it.

I think my next project will be smaller, lol. I did run into some problem with a bobbin tangling my thread. I had grabbed an extra one that came with the machine and loaded it, and it caused me a real headache. It is resting quietly in the bottom of the trashcan, lol.

This is the front of the bag. The parrot makes me think of my sweet Senegal, Caesar, even tho he didn't look like this

The pouch under the flap is fairly big on this one...I could put my whole hand in it with the fingers fully spread out. Yes, lol...my gun would fit in it.

Back and strap. My dh remarked that the family room is starting to look like a seamstress shop, with two sewing machines and all the stuff on the dining room table. I told him that I was thinking that my mother was probably looking in from wherever (not sure she went up, exactly), and was making nasty remarks about me trying to sew. Tough .

Beautiful - I love the larger totes and especially with the longer straps so I can wear it across my body so I can have both hands free to look if I go 'yard sale' shopping. It is great to use for carrying all my goodies. I love the colors.

This one is PERFECT for lugging around big quilts, lol, when I find more of them at yard sales...right? I could never put anything really heavy in it and carry it myself, but it is made strong enough for someone (like my dh) to tote, lol, it around just packed full of goodies.

I got the bright idea of looping those ends, and they would hold bottles of water if you don't want to button the tote. It made me think that making loops sideways would be a good idea if I make another one. I think I have enough of this fabric for one more.

I lined it with a canvas duck type material, so it is very very sturdy. I am still working on what I want to use for a closure. If my Kenmore would make a triangle buttonhole, I would use part of an old toy my bird had, lol.

This is beautiful fabric for a toe and I like the large size. You did a very nice job and I like large pockets for those important arsenal items (laughter). Thank you for sharing.

A friend asked if my gun would fit in the first one, and I told her no. It will fit this one, lol. I do admit to being one of the pistol packing females, but would not carry a gun in this tote. I like mine nice and secure.

I have been thinking about designing myself a new purse that I can carry my .38 in that would be comfy to carry, but would carry the gun safely secured, but allow me easy access, too.

I have been attacked (several times) by a dog who was not controlled by his idiot owner who FINALLY got the idea once they put him in jail, and informed him that he would be paying $1500 for a license to keep the dog, and that I had permission to shoot the dog. (I think the sheriff may have suggested that I could shoot him, too). Some people apparently can learn when approached in the right way. $$$$ and .38.

I also had to deal with a stalker, sicced on me by his mother, who sincerely hoped I would shoot him and put her out of misery. Fortunately, the law finally ran him out of state, and had a long talk with her. The sheriff told me to keep the gun on me, because they couldn't keep me safe 24/7. So it is part of my basic gear. Comb, wallet, chapstick, Smith & Wesson, lol.

BTW, I have had a carry permit since we moved down here, and I learned to shoot when I was 18....long long time ago, in a rock quarry. You get real good, real fast, lol.
