Love your bags. What is difficult about the final assembly?

Janet, after all the sewing of the squares, you end up with something that could be used as a layered table runner.
Then you have to fold in the center and make 3 different seams - only way I can get these to look good is to butt the seams and do a zig-zag type decorative stitch. So you join the bottom vertical bit, then the top vertical bit and then the horizontal seam. Can't see how it would be possible to join right sides together and have a good looking seam with all that bulk.
Kind of wished I used yarn couching on this one like I did on the original, but hey, its done!

Thank you Kitsie. I see what you mean. It looks like you have to wrestle it a bit too to get those seams done. I really like yours but need to figure out if I want a challenge.

The reason I asked, is because recently I made a bag that gave me fits. The directions had me put a stay into it, then do the handles. Well it wouldn't bend very well with the stupid stay in there. I swore I would never make another one, but if I did I would create a channel for the stay so it could be slipped in or out.

Love the bag ! If I had more confidence in my abilities to make one, I think there'd be many in my family who would like to have one. Really like yours!
