That I finished this quilt this weekend.

The picture is only 1/4 of the quilt. Just waiting on the backing so that I can forward to Leesa to quilt for me. This is a personal "Quilt of Valor" for me. It will be going to the family that owns the house we live in in Maryland. He was just promoted to Senior Chief and they will be transferring to Jacksonville. The hope is that I can give it to them in person before they move.

The pattern is called Trail Mix and appeared in the magazine Quilts from Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks - Spring '13.

Looks complicated and required a LOT of squaring up but well worth the effort. Just READ THE DIRECTIONS and don't get ahead of yourself.

BTW - the candy cane border was making the use of mistake pieces when I was piecing the blocks. I really like how it turned out.

I really like your "Quilt of Valor". If this is a 1/4 of the quilt, What size Blocks are you doing and how big will it be when done, with borders and binding?

Spectacular! I always like a little change of pace from the traditional ones. Love that pattern!

Beautiful quilt! I like it that you said to pay attention to the directions - and then explained what you did with the mistake pieces.
